Why are we a sustainable coliving?

At Cactus, sustainability is at the core of our values and practices. Here’s why we stand out:

  1. Solar-Powered Energy: We take pride in producing 80% of our energy through our own solar panels. By harnessing the power of the sun, we minimize our environmental impact while providing a comfortable experience for our guests.
  2. Local Collaboration: We actively collaborate with local organizations dedicated to creating a better and more sustainable island. Together, we work towards preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings and supporting the local community.
  3. Environmental Stewardship: Regularly, we organize and host biweekly clean-ups in the breathtaking beaches and mountains of our island. By actively participating in these clean-up efforts, we demonstrate our commitment to maintaining a pristine environment for everyone to enjoy.
  4. Supporting Local Businesses: We believe in supporting our local economy. That’s why we source the majority of our supplies from local shops, reducing transportation emissions and fostering a sense of community resilience.
  5. Slow Living and Conscious Consumption: Our community values slow living, which means we create an environment where long-term stays of around 1.5 months are the norm. We also practice conscious living by offering meat-reduced options for breakfasts, brunches, and dinners, encouraging our guests to make mindful choices for their well-being and the planet.
  6. Sharing Assets: At Cactus, we embrace the spirit of sharing. Instead of buying individual assets for each room or person, we promote the concept of communal living. By sharing resources, we reduce waste, minimize consumption, and foster a sense of togetherness.

These are just a few examples of our dedication to sustainability and community. If you’re passionate about a more sustainable and mindful way of living, we invite you to join us on this extraordinary adventure.
